New Zealand

Undoubtedly New Zealand’s key contribution to the world wine markets is its outstanding Sauvignon Blancs, which are packed with fruit but still manage to preserve the crisp, dry nature of the grape variety. The Sauvignon grape has found its natural home in the cooler climates of New Zealand, the best production area being that of Marlborough which is in the North of the South Island. The Kiwi Sauvignon Blancs are rightly hailed as rivals to the Sancerre and Pouilly Fume of France, with a few which could rightly call themselves the best in the world. The Pinot Noir has also found a home here and this light bodied red is worth a try.
